Welcome to the Animal Learning and Behavior Laboratory. Our lab has pioneered the investigation of Animal Learning and Cognition in Portugal, paying particular attention to the senses of Time and Number, and, more recently, to Decision Making, Impulsivity and Self-Control. In our research, we compare the performances of animals (mostly pigeons) with humans (children and adults) in carefully controlled laboratory situations or in semi-naturalistic settings.
